The historical-critical Max Weber Complete Edition was conceived and partly realized in Heidelberg, among other places. Since 1976, the edition has been supervised by the Commission for Social and Economic History of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, which also maintains an office in Heidelberg. In the Max Weber Complete Edition, Max Weber's published and posthumous texts are reproduced without his excerpts, marginalia, markings or editorial interventions in the texts of others. It is published by Mohr Siebeck.

The Max Weber Complete Edition contains all preserved writings and speeches (Department I), letters (Department II) and lectures (Department III) and is going to be finalized in the near future.
