Sven Ehmes is a research associate at the Chair of Comparative Social Stratification (Professor Nora Waitkus) at the Max Weber Institute of Sociology. He studied sociology and political science at the Goethe University Frankfurt and the University of Toronto. Previously, he was a research associate at the Chair of Social Stratification and Social Policy at the Institute of Sociology at Goethe University Frankfurt, where he worked on the ERC-funded research project POLAR – Polarization and its Discontents: Does rising economic inequality undermine the foundations of liberal societies? (PI: Markus Gangl), where he researched and taught on the social consequences of rising income inequality.
